Step 1: Washing Out the Oil

When you are ready, wash it out with one of the following shampoos or an equivalent:

Suave Daily Clarifying, Neutrogena Anti-Residue, Kristin Ess Daily Clarifying Shampoo, Maui Moisture Clarifying Shampoo, Any Clarifying shampoo should do (Be sure it contains SLS or Cocamidopropyl Betaine), Dawn dish soap will also work.

Note: It may take **2–3 washes** to fully remove oil.

Step 2: Laundry & Cleaning

* Wash bedding, pillowcases, and recently worn clothing in **hot water** (≥130°F).

* Dry in a hot dryer for at least **20 minutes**.

* Items that cannot be washed (stuffed animals, hats, etc.):

* Seal in a plastic bag for **48 hours**, or

* Toss in dryer on high for 20 minutes.

* Vacuum couches, car seats, and floors.

Step 3: Combing at Home

* It is highly recommended to comb hair daily for 5–7 days to check for stragglers.

• This helps ensure removal of late-hatching nits.
